About the Author
Alice Munro is a Canadian author who is best known for her exceptional skill as a short story writer. In 2013 she became the first Canadian to awarded a Nobel Prize for Literature. Munro was born in Wingham, a small town in Western Ontario and uses this region as a setting for many of her stories. In her writing, Munro has mastered cultural and vocal tones and uses them to her advantage when portraying her character's outlook. Often times her stories are based on strong morals and end in such a way that the reader is left thinking about their own view of the situation. (Duffy)
